About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring a Senior Data Analyst to support water utility analytics, operational performance measurement, and revenue protection initiatives. This hands-on role covers the full data lifecycle — acquisition, cleaning, feature engineering, analysis, modeling, visualization and operationalization — with a focus on Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), SCADA, leak detection analytics, and related telemetry. The role requires consistent availability during regular hours, participation in off-hours/on-call rotation, and onsite work in Philadelphia, PA.
What You’ll Do
- Leverage large volumes of internal and external data (including AMI and SCADA telemetry) to identify trends, anomalies and actionable insights related to water distribution and metered consumption
- Build data models, feature sets, and curated views to enable research, reporting and decision-making
- Apply statistical methods, machine learning and prescriptive analytics to support leak detection, water-loss mitigation, and asset-management decisions
- Automate data pipelines and recurring analyses to support field operations and financial integrity of metered revenue streams
- Design dashboards and visualizations (Tableau, Power BI) and present clear, data-driven stories to stakeholders and operational teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors and other departments to translate analytics into field actions and process improvements
- Participate in on-call rotation and be available for occasional nights, weekends, and holidays as required
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma plus two years of post-high-school education required. A college degree is a plus. Data science / analytics certificates are a plus. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Experience & Skills
- 4+ years in analytics/data roles (Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Engineer or similar) preferred
- Strong proficiency with SQL and scripting/programming languages such as Python or R
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Familiarity with AMI, SCADA, telemetry, or utility operations analytics is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail, organization and documentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate technical analysis into actionable recommendations
- Customer-service mindset and ability to work effectively with operational teams and vendors
Additional Information
- Employment type: Full-time, onsite in Philadelphia, PA
- Salary: $110,000 per year (maximum) — listed per source information
- The successful candidate must reside in the City of Philadelphia or establish primary residence in the City of Philadelphia within six months of hire
- Candidates will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background check per CJIS policy
- Consistent reliability during normal work hours and participation in an on-call rotation (including nights/weekends/holidays) are required
