Role overview
Confidential client is seeking a Senior Data Analyst (contract, W-2) to lead design and delivery of data products, migrate on-prem data pipelines to AWS, and build self-service BI capabilities. This hybrid role requires onsite presence and strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, Python (PySpark a plus), AWS tools, and data governance practices.
- Location: McLean, VA (hybrid; on-site 3 days/week)
- Employment type: CONTRACTOR (W-2 required)
- Rate: $50.00 to $55.00 / hour (W-2)
What you’ll do
- Act as a data lead to define, implement, and operationalize data products that enable self-service analytics.
- Re-engineer and migrate ETL/ELT pipelines from on-premises environments to Amazon Web Services.
- Build, execute, and monitor data processes that supply critical data to partners and regulators.
- Prototype and implement modern BI tools and dashboards to support business stakeholders.
- Improve data management, access, and data quality processes; identify gaps and recommend fixes.
- Design and implement data governance solutions (quality metrics, metadata, lineage, access controls, business definitions).
- Create data mappings and transition documentation to support moves to new systems.
- Apply industry trends and open-source/big-data tools where appropriate.
Required qualifications
- Minimum 1 year hands-on experience with Snowflake SQL.
- Minimum 1 year writing Python code and automation scripts.
- Minimum 1 year working with data platforms and querying/analyzing data.
- Practical experience with: Python, PySpark, Snowflake SQL, Unix/Linux, and GitHub.
- Experience with AWS products and BI tooling (QuickSight or similar).
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.
- COF experience (preferred).
- Domain knowledge in risk management, audit, or credit operational control.
- 1+ years in process management/improvement (Lean or Six Sigma).
- 1+ years working with data governance and data quality tools and practices.
Compensation & employment details
- Rate: $50.00 to $55.00 per hour (W-2). This posting reflects the rate as provided by the confidential client.
- Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W-2 basis.
- For W-2 consultants, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and life insurance (benefits determined by the confidential client).
