Position Overview
Confidential Client (Telecommunications) is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to build and deliver scalable datasets, reports, and analytical solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across finance, process excellence, audit, and controls. This role works closely with finance and billing-system stakeholders to translate business needs into reliable analytics and executive-ready insights.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with finance and business stakeholders to define data requirements and translate business questions into scalable analytical solutions.
- Focus on financial, statistical, and billing-system data to create trusted datasets for reporting and decision-making.
- Extract, integrate, validate, and reconcile data from multiple internal and external sources.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, data pipelines, and analytical models using BigQuery, Python, and related tools.
- Design and maintain recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and executive-level visualizations.
- Identify data quality issues, reconcile discrepancies across systems, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve them.
- Analyze trends, patterns, and anomalies and present findings in a clear, business-friendly manner.
- Support cross-functional initiatives including data engineering, analytics, and data warehouse or mart migrations.
- Build reusable analytical assets (feature stores, modular datasets) to improve reporting efficiency.
- Stay current with evolving data technologies and recommend process improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Accounting/Finance/Business, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience building scalable datasets, reporting solutions, and analytical insights in a business environment.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Experience with large-scale data warehouses, lakehouse/lake environments, and ETL/ELT concepts.
- Proven attention to data quality and experience with report testing and validation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings for executive audiences.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in telecommunications, including familiarity with telecom billing systems.
- Experience with SAP S/4 HANA Finance, BRIM, RAR, or other ERP/finance systems.
- Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
- Familiarity with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Professional certifications in Google Cloud, Data Analytics, or related technologies.
- Advanced degree in a related field.
Technical Skills & Tools
- Strong SQL and Python skills.
- Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery or comparable cloud analytical databases.
- Knowledge of relational database design, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Experience building data pipelines, APIs, and consolidating data from multiple source systems.
- Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and modern analytics architectures.
- Practical use of AI/ML processes or tools to increase productivity and efficiency.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Primarily office-based or remote/hybrid work with regular use of a computer.
- Ability to participate in virtual and in-person meetings across geographically dispersed teams.
