What You’ll Do

This entry-level Security Analyst (Tier 1 SOC) will join our client’s Security Operations Center to monitor security alerts, triage potential incidents, and escalate confirmed threats. You will learn to use XDR/SIEM tooling, follow incident playbooks, and document investigations to improve detection and response.

  • Monitor and analyze security events using SentinelOne and other XDR/endpoint tools
  • Triage alerts, identify false positives, and escalate verified incidents to Tier 2
  • Track and document investigative steps and alert resolution in the ticketing system
  • Follow incident response playbooks and assist in building runbooks for common scenarios
  • Assist with phishing, malware, and account misuse investigations
  • Participate in SOC training exercises and continuous improvement activities

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate incident documentation and status updates
  • Use ConnectWise Manage (or similar ticketing) for case management and communication
  • Support alert tuning and provide feedback on tool effectiveness
  • Collaborate with Tier 2 analysts to learn containment and remediation workflows
  • Contribute to periodic reporting and trend analysis

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field — or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong interest in IT security, incident response, and compliance
  • Basic understanding of common security concepts (malware, phishing, access controls)
  • Excellent attention to detail, documentation skills, and critical thinking

Preferred

  • 0–1 years in a security, NOC, or help-desk support role
  • CompTIA Security+ (required or in progress)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security controls, SentinelOne, or other XDR/endpoint tools
  • Experience with SIEM platforms and ticketing systems

Soft skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Eagerness to learn and follow direction
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 per year (based on experience)
  • Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, PTO, and 401(k)
  • Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday–Friday; participation in on-call rotation or extended shift coverage as needed

Location

This posting is for the role located in Brooklyn, NY. The position is in-person at our Brooklyn site; relocation or multi-site assignments will be communicated by the client if applicable.
