Introduction

This entry-level Security Analyst role is the first line of defense for Confidential Client. You will monitor Security Operations Center (SOC) dashboards, triage alerts, analyze logs, review vulnerability findings, and document incidents. This position is ideal for cybersecurity professionals looking to build a strong foundation in threat detection, incident response, and SOC operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor SOC tools (SIEM, DLP, WAFs, and other security telemetry) to ensure tool health, proper log ingestion, and continuous visibility.
  • Triage real-time alerts from dashboards and logs; identify false positives and escalate verified or complex incidents to senior SOC staff.
  • Review routine vulnerability scan results and assist in tracking remediation status across assets.
  • Document investigations, remediation actions, and timelines clearly in the ticketing system; ensure tickets follow SOPs and are closed appropriately.
  • Provide timely escalation briefings for high‑priority or unverified threats.
  • Collaborate with IT, system administration, and other cross-functional teams during investigations and incident resolution.

Minimum Requirements

  • 1+ years in an IT role or comparable hands-on technical experience.
  • Basic networking and systems knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S; Windows and Linux fundamentals).
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and curiosity for log-level investigation.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; ability to document technical findings and handoffs.
  • Willingness to learn SOC tooling and incident response procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field — OR equivalent practical experience/certifications.
  • Security certification such as CISSP (or in-progress) or relevant vendor certs.
  • Familiarity with SIEM platforms, ticketing systems, and basic vulnerability management workflows.

What We Value

  • Reliability, ownership, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse technical teams.
  • A methodical approach to troubleshooting and incident documentation.
  • A desire to grow toward advanced SOC or incident response responsibilities.
