What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Security Analyst to support monitoring, detection, and incident response activities. This is a hands-on role with training provided — ideal for candidates with basic server or network administration experience who want to grow into a security-focused career.

  • Threat intelligence research to support detections and investigations
  • Threat hunting and detection rule creation (SIEM rule development)
  • Log analysis and continuous monitoring using SIEM tools
  • Incident response support and escalation, including documentation of findings
  • Vulnerability management tasks and remediation tracking
  • Clear documentation, reporting, and communication with technical teams and stakeholders

Schedule

  • Weekend evening coverage (likely Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM; two 12-hour shifts)
  • Day shifts Wednesday and Thursday (8:30 AM – 2:45 PM)

Required Qualifications

  • Understanding of core security concepts and common processes (monitoring, detection, escalation)
  • Basic computer and network fundamentals (TCP/IP, Windows/Linux basics)
  • Demonstrable interest in cybersecurity and willingness to learn on the job

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in an IT security-focused role or in server/network administration
  • Experience with SIEM platforms and endpoint security/EDR tools
  • Familiarity with PowerShell, Group Policy, and endpoint management workflows
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management and cloud security principles
  • One of these certifications preferred: GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, GIAC Incident Handler (GCIH)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field

Skills & Tools You’ll Use

  • SIEM for log collection, analysis and detection rule creation
  • Endpoint security / EDR tooling for investigations and containment
  • PowerShell and Windows administration tools for remediation and automation
  • Threat intelligence sources and threat-hunting methodologies
