Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Scientist I – Conjugation to join their Scientific & QA team in San Diego, CA on a W2 contract (12 months). This hands-on role supports conjugation workflows in a lab setting, working independently on single- and multi-step conjugations to meet quality and production targets.


Responsibilities

  • Perform single- and multi-step conjugation processes accurately and consistently
  • Operate routine laboratory instruments and follow established protocols
  • Document work, enter data, label and aliquot QC samples, and maintain batch records
  • Troubleshoot process issues and follow assignments through to completion
  • Participate in reagent prep, lab supply ordering, and equipment maintenance
  • Follow safety procedures and participate in Environmental Health & Safety programs
  • Support corrective actions when hazards or process deviations are identified
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or trainer

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a biological science discipline (minimum)
  • 0–2 years relevant laboratory experience (entry to early-mid level)
  • General knowledge of biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline
  • Familiarity with routine lab instruments and applicable software
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records/logs
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to follow SOPs
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to meet production deadlines
  • Knowledge of general laboratory safety practices

Schedule & Compensation

  • 12-month W2 contract (40 hours/week)
  • Shift options: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM or 2:00 PM–10:30 PM (1st Shift)
  • Pay rate: $20–30 per hour (as provided by the client)
  • Location: San Diego, CA (on-site)

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. This role requires U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (green card holders); the client does not provide sponsorship for this contract.
  • Employment type: Contract (W2) — hiring to be completed by Confidential Client via Careertakes.
