Position Overview
Confidential client is hiring a Scientist II (Biology) to join their Scientific Applications team in Del Mar, CA. This hands-on, onsite (5 days/week) role supports flow cytometry studies, product evaluations, and development of customer-facing scientific materials to advance commercialization efforts. Pay rate: $55/hr.
What You’ll Do
- Perform and support flow cytometry experiments following established protocols.
- Assist with panel design, staining optimization, sample preparation methods, and assay workflows.
- Prepare biological samples, cell cultures, reagents, controls, and instrument setups.
- Collect, organize, and analyze flow cytometry and related experimental data (e.g., FlowJo).
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, study documentation, and experimental reports.
- Contribute to scientific presentations, application notes, posters, and other customer-facing materials.
- Conduct literature searches and summarize findings relevant to projects.
- Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, Marketing, and Scientific Applications to support product development and commercialization.
- Support internal and external studies that demonstrate product performance and application utility.
- Follow company policies and laboratory safety procedures; actively participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related life science field.
- 0–2 years of relevant laboratory experience (academic research, internships, or industry experience acceptable).
- Exposure to flow cytometry, immunology, cell culture, molecular biology, or related laboratory techniques is preferred.
- Experience using FlowJo or similar data analysis software is desirable.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environments.
- Strong laboratory execution and attention to detail.
- Clear scientific communication skills (written and verbal).
