What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an early-career Salesforce Developer to join an IT delivery team focused on Sales Technology. In this hybrid role based in Cary, NC, you will help build, configure, test, and support Salesforce Sales Cloud capabilities that improve seller productivity and sales-service handoffs. You’ll collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, DevSecOps, and vendor partners while learning platform best practices and using approved AI-assisted development tools responsibly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in building, testing, implementing, and supporting Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL/SOSL, Flows, declarative configuration, and platform APIs.
  • Support Sales Cloud features: opportunity workflows, pipeline processes, Book of Business views, activity capture, reporting, and sales-service handoffs.
  • Adopt configuration-first approaches to minimize unnecessary customization; support custom development when justified.
  • Help author user stories, technical notes, test inputs, release documentation, and support materials.
  • Support integrations between Salesforce and enterprise platforms (data hubs, content systems, underwriting/pricing systems, analytics).
  • Use approved AI-assisted development tools for analysis, code generation drafts, test design, and documentation—applying human review and secure development practices.
  • Participate in Agile/SAFe ceremonies: PI Planning, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, and production readiness reviews.
  • Participate in peer reviews, write and run unit tests, assist with system/integration testing and UAT, and help resolve defects and post-release incidents with guidance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1+ years of software development, Salesforce development, application support, configuration, automation, or related technical delivery experience (internship, academic project, or professional).
  • Exposure to Salesforce concepts and tooling: Apex, LWC, Flows, SOQL/SOSL, objects/fields, reports, dashboards, and Salesforce APIs.
  • Understanding of Salesforce security fundamentals: profiles, permission sets, sharing, roles, field-level security, and authentication concepts.
  • Working knowledge of source control, deployment practices, automated testing, secure coding, issue tracking, and production support fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with Agile or SAFe delivery processes.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Interest in responsibly using AI-assisted development tools to increase productivity and learning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce certifications or Trailhead experience (Platform App Builder, Platform Developer I, Administrator).
  • Familiarity with Sales Cloud workflows, CRM Analytics, managed packages, or Salesforce Connect.
  • Experience with DevOps/release tools (Git, SFDX, Azure DevOps, Copado, AutoRabit, Jenkins).
  • Knowledge of REST/SOAP/Bulk APIs, ETL/ELT, middleware, or event-based integration patterns.
  • Experience in insurance, group benefits, broker/customer relationship management, or enterprise CRM transformations.
  • Awareness of governor limits, performance troubleshooting, accessibility, and mobile considerations on Salesforce.

Location & Schedule

This is a hybrid role based in Cary, NC. The position requires a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
