About the role

This is an entry-level Sales & Distribution Trainee opportunity with a confidential client in the Logistics & Warehouse sector in Tucker, GA. The role is designed for highly motivated, customer-focused candidates who want a career in industrial sales. You will begin in the distribution center to learn product flow, logistics, and material handling, then transition into sales (inside sales or counter sales).


What You’ll Do

Sales Trainee responsibilities

  • Gain operational knowledge of pipe, valves, fittings (PVF) and commercial plumbing products to support customer needs.
  • Build and maintain strong customer and vendor relationships to grow sales.
  • Generate accurate product quotations (specs, lead times, pricing, tagging/packaging, inventory, logistics).
  • Process incoming orders via eCommerce, phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer calls and emails; prepare project quotations.
  • Maintain relationships with manufacturers and vendors to streamline order processing.
  • Use and learn the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool and other internal software.
  • Stay informed about active marketing programs and product updates.

Distribution Trainee responsibilities

  • Monitor the order queue to track status and verify order accuracy.
  • Manage expedited orders to meet delivery expectations.
  • Process return paperwork and issue customer credits per policy.
  • Operate material-handling equipment (forklift, scissor lift, pallet jacks) to prepare shipments.
  • Participate in inventory counts and maintain accurate stock records.

Qualifications

  • Desire for a long-term career in Industrial Sales.
  • Industrial / operations experience or a Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse/distribution environment.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain any site-required certifications (e.g., forklift certification) where applicable.

Compensation, Location & Employment Type

  • Estimated pay: $42,204 per year (estimated).
  • Location: Tucker, GA (on-site distribution + sales transition).
  • Employment type: Full-time; internship pathways may be available depending on candidate background.
  • This position requires ability to work in a warehouse environment and operate material-handling equipment.
