The Opportunity
Confidential Client is hiring a Sales Support Specialist to join an Annuity Internal Sales Desk in Boston, MA. This is a developmental role (expected up to 18 months) focused on building annuity product knowledge, consultative sales support skills, and relationship management experience. The role is designed to prepare high-performing contributors for possible progression to an Internal Wholesaler position; promotion will depend on performance and business needs.
What You’ll Do
You will provide phone-based sales support to financial professionals and internal partners, helping them with product information, illustrations, and fulfillment requests. Primary responsibilities include:
- Support an inbound telephone queue answering product and rate questions
- Run product illustrations with 100% accuracy and meet turnaround expectations
- Fulfill requests for marketing collateral, application kits, and illustrations
- Route calls and leads to appropriate teams, including Internal Wholesalers
- Log all activity and interactions in the CRM (Salesforce)
- Build and maintain strong product and market knowledge (product, economic, industry, competitor)
- Participate in training and coaching to grow consultative sales and relationship skills
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6+ months of customer service, sales, or relevant internship experience (academic/campus/part-time counts)
- 1+ year experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- FINRA SIE & Series 6 at time of application or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- State Securities License (Series 63) at time of application or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- State Life & Health insurance license at time of application or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Prior third‑party annuity distribution experience
- 1+ year in financial services or insurance industry
- 1+ year of sales support or direct selling (quota-driven) experience
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce) and customer relationship management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in developing a career in annuity/product sales and wholesaling
Employment Type & Compensation
- Employment type: Full time (Contractor status may apply per engagement model)
- Estimated pay (provided by source): $56,562 per year (estimated)
