What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an outside Sales Representative to build and grow foodservice relationships within an assigned territory. This role focuses on helping customers succeed while meeting sales and profitability goals.
- Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to drive profitable sales growth in your territory.
- Qualify prospects and follow account stratification goals.
- Research customer needs and recommend product/service mixes to meet those needs.
- Track market trends, product innovations, and competitor activity — share value-added insights with customers.
- Answer customer questions on products, pricing, availability, and product use.
- Provide on-site product information and practical training to customer staff.
- Drive your personal vehicle to customer accounts, events, conventions, and company meetings.
- Coordinate with credit and transportation teams to communicate and collect receivables, manage deliveries, and resolve order issues.
- Prepare sales quotes, menu suggestions, sales budgets and reports; maintain accurate sales records.
- Participate in promotions, customer events, district meetings, and ongoing training.
- Assist with onboarding and training new sales team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Who You Are / Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR
- HSD/GED plus 3 years’ restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent experience, including completion of a sales internship)
- Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company insurability standards
- Current automobile insurance meeting required limits (see below)
- Authorized to work in the United States
Preferred
- Bi‑lingual candidates
- Restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience
Certificates & Legal Requirements
- Current automobile insurance: Bodily injury — $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident; Property damage — $100,000
- Pass employment testing
- Must sign Confidential Client Protective Covenants Agreement
- Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory
Skills & Competencies
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Sales ability, persuasiveness, and follow-up
- Customer-centric mindset and ability to build trust and loyalty
- Adaptability and strong organizational skills
- Comfortable working non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) as customer needs require
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base pay: $45,435 per year (estimated)
