Confidential Client is hiring for an outside Sales Representative role based in Wilmington, DE.
- Compensation range: $44,200 — $73,600 per year (range provided in compliance with state pay-transparency requirements).
- Employment type: Full-time / Contractor (per source posting).
- Travel: Up to 75% territory travel expected.
- Additional pay/benefits: eligibility for incentive/bonus plans, car allowance (or mileage reimbursement where required), cell phone, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, and 401(k) with automatic matching.
What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities
This outside sales role focuses on building relationships, growing sales, and supporting customers in the assigned territory.
- Develop new business and grow existing accounts to meet sales and profit goals.
- Seek and qualify prospects according to account stratification goals.
- Research customer needs and recommend product and service mixes to meet those needs.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and product innovations; share relevant insights with customers.
- Provide product information and practical training to customer staff.
- Manage customer orders, troubleshoot order issues (e.g., stock, special orders), and coordinate with transportation/operations.
- Communicate and collect accounts receivable as needed, working with credit teams.
- Participate in promotions, customer visits, events, and sales/district meetings.
- Prepare sales budgets, quotes, menu suggestions, reports, and maintain sales records.
- Attend ongoing training and assist with training new employees as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field OR high school diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or completion of the sales internship) — equivalent related experience considered.
- Valid driver’s license and an automobile insurance policy meeting the company’s insurability limits.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Preferred
- Bi-lingual candidates a plus.
- Experience in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or as a chef is preferred.
Certificates / Licenses
- Driver’s license with insurable driving record.
- Required automobile liability limits (example from source): Bodily injury — $100,000 per person / $300,000 per accident; Property damage — $100,000 (confirm specific client requirements during hiring).
Requirements
- Pass employment testing.

- Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory.
