Summary
This is an entry-level Sales Representative Trainee position with a Confidential Client in the foodservice / food & agriculture space. The program begins with approximately 4 months of in-depth training at the company headquarters in Boise, ID, including travel to multiple markets to shadow experienced sales professionals. After successful completion, trainees are placed as Account Representatives and relocated to a sales territory within the continental US (relocation assistance provided).
Key Responsibilities

Pre-market (training) responsibilities:

Attend product trainings, tour facilities, and build internal relationships

Travel to several markets to shadow experienced sales professionals

Learn and adopt the Confidential Client sales process and product portfolio

Become proficient with the company CRM (Salesforce) and internal systems

Develop presentation, communication, and professional self-scheduling skills

In-market (territory) responsibilities:
-
Profile and penetrate key operator accounts and distributor channels

Use a consultative selling approach to communicate product benefits and drive adoption

Conduct product demonstrations, work in commercial kitchens, and lift/carry up to 30 lbs

Support distributor trainings, regional sales meetings, food shows, and trade events

Collaborate across Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, Culinary, Demand Planning, Production, and Logistics

Execute promotional activities and meet sales forecasts and profit targets

Research market trends and recommend product or merchandising suggestions

Leverage Salesforce CRM to manage accounts and increase efficiency

Identify new sales opportunities and recruit partners for product distribution

Persuade and influence customers and internal teams professionally without direct authority
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred; combination of education, training, and/or experience will be considered
- Positive, competitive attitude and strong work ethic
- Quick learner with flexibility and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms preferred
- Strong communication and presentation skills; culinary influence or foodservice experience is a plus
- Ability to travel up to 25% during training and in-market activities

- Estimated salary (from source): $68,572 per year (estimated)
