What You’ll Do

This is an outside sales role focused on helping customers succeed while meeting sales and profit goals for the assigned territory.

  • Develop new business and grow existing accounts to achieve profitable sales targets
  • Qualify prospects and pursue opportunities per account stratification goals
  • Research customer needs and recommend product/service mixes that meet those needs
  • Monitor market and competitor activity and advise customers on product solutions
  • Provide product information and on-site training to customer staff
  • Drive to customer accounts, conventions, and company meetings as required
  • Manage order/delivery issues, special orders and inventory challenges with internal teams
  • Communicate with credit as needed to manage accounts receivable and collections
  • Prepare sales quotes, menu suggestions, budgets, and reports; maintain accurate sales records
  • Participate in promotions, customer events, sales meetings and ongoing training
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Location & Territory

  • Territory: San Francisco Peninsula area (Millbrae, CA and surrounding accounts)
  • Requirement: Must live no further than one hour (with traffic) from the assigned territory or be willing/able to relocate at your own expense
  • Frequent driving required; reliable personal vehicle required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $63,229 per year (estimated)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related field OR
  • High school diploma/GED plus 3 years' experience in restaurant management, B2B or outside sales (or equivalent experience, including completion of a sales internship)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking) strongly preferred
  • Background in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience

Certificates, Licenses & Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
  • Current automobile insurance meeting these minimum limits: bodily injury $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident; property damage $100,000
  • Ability to pass employment testing
  • Must sign Confidential Client’s protective covenants agreement
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the territory
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required

Professional Skills

  • Proficiency with basic PC applications and MS Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English; Spanish language skills a strong plus
  • Ability to manage administrative tasks, analyze sales data, and prepare reports
