What You’ll Do

This is an outside sales role focused on building relationships with foodservice and hospitality accounts in the assigned San Francisco Peninsula territory (Alameda Pt area). You will drive territory growth by identifying prospects, servicing existing customers, and delivering product and menu solutions that help customers succeed — while meeting sales, profitability, and service goals.

  • Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to drive profitable sales growth
  • Qualify and pursue prospects in line with account stratification goals
  • Assess customer needs and recommend product and service mixes
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity; recommend product assortments
  • Provide product training and value-added consultative support to customer staff
  • Handle order issues (inventory, special orders) and coordinate with internal teams
  • Manage AR collection when needed, working with credit teams
  • Drive to customer accounts, industry events and internal meetings as required
  • Prepare sales quotes, menu suggestions, budgets and periodic reports
  • Participate in sales meetings, promotions, trainings and customer events
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new sales team members

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline
    OR HSD/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B/outside sales experience, or equivalent relatable experience (including completion of a sales internship)
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance that meets company insurability standards
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office
  • Must live within roughly one hour (with normal traffic) of the assigned San Francisco Peninsula territory or be willing to relocate at your own expense
  • Able to work occasional non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) as customer needs require

Preferred

  • Bilingual (Spanish strongly preferred)
  • Restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef/culinary experience

Requirements & Certifications

  • Current automobile insurance with the following limits: Bodily injury — $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident; Property damage — $100,000
  • Pass required employment testing
  • Sign Confidential Client’s protective covenants agreement (as a condition of employment)
