The Sales Representative at Confidential Client Redwood City is responsible for outside sales activities, including developing new business, managing existing accounts, and achieving sales and profit goals within the assigned territory. This role requires strong customer relationship skills, market knowledge, and the ability to work flexible hours with significant travel to support and grow Confidential Client's foodservice distribution business.

What You’ll Do
This is an outside territory sales role focused on building relationships with foodservice and restaurant customers in the Redwood City, CA territory. You will promote the Confidential Client’s products and services, grow new business, and support existing accounts to meet sales and profitability targets.
- Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth.
- Qualify and pursue prospects following account stratification goals.
- Analyze customer needs and recommend product/service mixes to meet those needs.
- Provide product information and hands-on training to customer personnel.
- Represent the territory at customer events, conventions, and meetings.
- Manage order issues and coordinate with distribution/transportation teams to resolve problems.
- Maintain accurate sales records and prepare regular reports, quotes, and menu suggestions.
- Participate in ongoing training and sales meetings; assist in onboarding new employees as needed.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage a sales territory to meet or exceed sales and gross profit margin targets.
- Conduct face-to-face customer visits using your personal vehicle; adhere to routing and delivery procedures.
- Communicate with credit and operations teams to collect receivables and troubleshoot orders.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and product innovations; use insights to add value for customers.
- Perform administrative tasks including budgets, sales reports, and account documentation.
- Other duties as assigned to support overall team and territory objectives.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience OR a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline.
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance that meets company insurability standards.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to pass employment testing and sign required protective covenants.
Preferred
- Foodservice outside sales or restaurant management experience; chef or culinary background a plus.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation range: $53,000 - $88,400 per year (base). Actual pay will depend on experience, skills, and other factors.

Location & Requirements
- Territory: Redwood City, CA (ZIP 94538). Candidates must live no further than 1 hour (with traffic) from the territory or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
- Travel: Up to 75% travel within the assigned territory.
- Required start/attendance: Sales training is scheduled to begin August 17, 2026 (training dates provided by Confidential Client).
