Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Outside Sales Representative based in Pocatello, ID. This outside sales role focuses on building relationships with new and existing foodservice and restaurant accounts, driving profitable sales growth within an assigned territory, and delivering value-added service to help customers succeed.

  • Estimated base compensation (as posted): $100,000 per year
  • Travel: Up to 25%

Job Summary

This is an outside sales position responsible for promoting the confidential client’s products and services and for building and maintaining relationships with customer accounts. The primary goal is to achieve sales and profit targets while ensuring customers receive excellent service. This role may require non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to meet customer needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth within an assigned territory.
  • Seek and qualify prospects following company account stratification goals.
  • Research customer needs and recommend product and service mixes to meet those needs.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity; recommend product offerings based on customer goals.
  • Answer customer questions about products, pricing, availability, and usage.
  • Provide product information and practical training to customer staff.
  • Drive a personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, and company meetings.
  • Work with credit and collections to manage accounts receivable when necessary.
  • Coordinate with the transportation team to manage deliveries and resolve order issues.
  • Participate in company promotions, customer events, and sales/district meetings.
  • Maintain sales records and perform administrative tasks (quotes, budgets, reports, credits, pick-ups).
  • Engage in ongoing training and assist with training new employees as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related discipline OR
  • High school diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience, or equivalent relatable experience (completion of sales internship may be considered).
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company insurability standards.
  • Current automobile insurance meeting minimum liability limits as required by the employer.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual candidates preferred.
  • Prior restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience a plus.

Certificates, Licenses & Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and required automobile insurance limits.
  • Pass employment testing as required.
  • Must sign Confidential Client Protective Covenants Agreement.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
