Compensation & Benefits

Confidential Client estimates base pay at $44,605 per year (estimated) for this role.

What You’ll Do

This is an outside territory sales role focused on helping restaurant and foodservice customers succeed while achieving assigned sales and profit targets.

  • Develop new business and expand existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth in the assigned Phoenix territory
  • Prospect and qualify new customers following account stratification goals
  • Research customer needs and recommend product/service mixes to meet those needs
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity; recommend products and pricing strategies to customers
  • Provide product information, demos and practical training to customer personnel
  • Manage order issues and coordinate with credit and transportation teams to resolve inventory, delivery or billing problems
  • Drive to customer locations, industry events and company meetings as required
  • Prepare sales quotes, menu suggestions and sales reports; maintain accurate sales records
  • Engage in ongoing training and support team sales initiatives and promotions
  • Other duties as assigned to support territory and company goals

Who You Are / Qualifications

Required — one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR
  • High school diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent experience, including completion of a sales internship)

Preferred

  • Bilingual candidates a plus
  • Restaurant management, foodservice outside sales or chef experience preferred

Certificates / Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company insurability standards
  • Current automobile insurance meeting the following minimum limits: Bodily injury — $100,000 per person / $300,000 per accident; Property damage — $100,000

Requirements & Conditions

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must pass required employment testing
  • Will be required to sign the client’s Protective Covenants Agreement
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory
  • Ability to work some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) when customer needs require

  • Strong consultative sales ability and customer focus
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills
  • Ability to manage work independently and adapt to changing needs
  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
