Job Summary
This outside sales role focuses on promoting products and services, developing customer relationships, and achieving sales and profit goals within an assigned territory. The position may require non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to meet customer needs. Employment is with a Confidential Client.
Responsibilities
- Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth
- Seek and qualify prospects according to account stratification goals
- Assess customer business needs and recommend product/service mixes
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity; advise customers accordingly
- Answer questions about products, pricing, availability, and product use
- Provide product information and hands-on training for customer personnel
- Drive to customer accounts, company meetings, and events as needed
- Work with credit/collections as necessary to manage receivables
- Coordinate with transportation/delivery schedules and troubleshoot order issues
- Participate in company promotions, events, and sales meetings
- Maintain sales records, prepare quotes, budgets, and reports
- Assist with training new team members and engage in ongoing professional development
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field OR
- High school diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B, or outside sales experience (or completion of an approved sales internship)
- Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company insurability standards
- Current automobile insurance meeting specified limits (see Certifications & Requirements)
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory
- Must pass required employment testing and agree to job-related agreements as a condition of employment
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual skills (preferred)
- Prior restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience
Certificates, Licenses & Requirements
- Valid driver’s license that meets insurability standards
- Current automobile insurance with limits similar to: Bodily injury — $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident; Property damage — $100,000 (minimum)
- Ability to pass employment-related testing and background checks where lawfully permitted
- Agreement to sign Confidential Client’s protective covenants agreement (job-related)
