Role overview
Confidential Client is hiring an outside Sales Representative to cover South San Francisco and the surrounding territory. This field sales role focuses on building and growing relationships with restaurants and foodservice customers, driving profitable sales growth, and delivering outstanding customer service. This position requires frequent travel within the assigned territory and a customer-first sales approach.
What You’ll Do
- Develop new business, grow existing accounts, and reduce lost business to hit sales and profit targets in your territory.
- Identify and qualify prospects consistent with account stratification goals.
- Research customer needs and recommend product/service mixes to meet business goals.
- Monitor market trends, product innovations and competitor activity; provide value-added insights to customers.
- Provide product training and menu suggestions to customer staff.
- Drive your personal vehicle to customer accounts, events, and company meetings.
- Manage order/delivery issues and coordinate with operations (transportation, credit, etc.) to resolve problems.
- Prepare sales quotes, maintain sales records, and review weekly/monthly reports (sales, margins, bids).
- Participate in team meetings, training, promotions, and customer events.
- Assist with onboarding and coaching new sales team members as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Compensation & Benefits
- Visible pay range: $53,000 – $88,400 per year (range provided in compliance with state pay transparency laws)

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related field OR high school diploma/GED plus 3 years restaurant management, B2B, or outside sales experience (or completion of the client’s sales internship).
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Current automobile insurance meeting company-required liability limits (as specified by the client).
- Ability to live within one hour of the assigned territory (or relocate on your own prior to hire).
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred
- Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience preferred.
