Role Overview

Confidential Client is recruiting a full‑time Outside Sales Representative to build and grow customer relationships across an assigned territory. This role focuses on driving profitable sales growth with new and existing accounts in the foodservice/restaurant channel and related B2B customers. The position requires regular in‑market selling, territory travel by personal vehicle, and occasional non‑traditional hours (evening, weekends, holidays) to meet customer needs.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth within an assigned territory.
  • Identify, qualify and prioritize prospects following account stratification goals.
  • Research customer business needs and recommend product and service mixes that meet objectives.
  • Evaluate market trends and recommend products and pricing based on customer needs.
  • Provide product information, demonstrations, and practical training to customer staff.
  • Answer customer questions about product availability, pricing and usage.
  • Manage order issues (out of stock, special orders, inventory) and coordinate with operations/transportation as needed.
  • Drive to customer accounts, company meetings and industry events; maintain accurate travel and sales records.
  • Support accounts receivable collection activities and collaborate with credit/finance teams.
  • Prepare sales quotes, menu suggestions, budgets and routine administrative sales reports.
  • Participate in promotions, customer events, sales meetings and ongoing training.
  • Assist in training new sales team members as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are / Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR HSD/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent experience, including sales internship completion).
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance that meets company insurability limits.
  • Comfortable driving regularly within a sales territory and meeting customers in person.
  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English or other) a plus.
  • Background in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or culinary experience (chef) preferred.
  • Strong consultative selling, communication and relationship‑building skills.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to pass employment testing and background checks as required.
  • Must sign Confidential Client Protective Covenants Agreement.
  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $64,532 per year (estimated)
  • Competitive base salary plus bonus and promotional incentive opportunities.
  • Car allowance or mileage reimbursement (varies by location; mileage reimbursement for candidates in CA noted) and company‑provided cell phone in many territories.

Location & Travel

  • Job location: Flat Rock, MI (assigned territory) — in‑market selling required.
  • Requires regular driving of a personal vehicle; must maintain required insurance and meet driving record standards.
