Sales Representative - South San Francisco CA

Overview
This is an outside sales role focused on building and growing foodservice accounts within an assigned territory. The territory for this role is South San Francisco and the surrounding area. You must live within one hour (including typical traffic) of the territory or be willing to relocate at your own expense prior to hire; relocation is not provided for this position. You will be employed by a confidential client.
What You’ll Do
- Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth in an assigned territory.
- Prospect, qualify, and prioritize leads following account stratification goals.
- Research customer needs and recommend product and service solutions that drive customer success.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity; recommend products and strategies to customers.
- Provide product information and practical training to customer staff.
- Drive a personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, and meetings.
- Manage account receivables in collaboration with credit teams and collect balances as required.
- Coordinate with transportation and operations to troubleshoot order/delivery issues.
- Participate in company promotions, customer visits, events, and sales meetings.
- Prepare sales budgets, quotes, menu suggestions, and sales reports; maintain sales records.
- Engage in ongoing sales training and assist in onboarding new sales team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base pay: $48,930 per year (estimated).

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related discipline OR
- High school diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent), including completion of an internship program such as a sales internship.
Preferred
- Bilingual candidates preferred.
- Background in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience is a plus.
Certificates & Licenses
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards.
- Current automobile insurance meeting the following minimum limits: bodily injury $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident; property damage $100,000.
Requirements & Conditions
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must pass employment testing and background checks as required.
- Successful candidates must sign the confidential client’s protective covenants agreement.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory (within one hour).
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
