Sales Representative

What You’ll Do
This is an outside territory sales role focused on building relationships with foodservice customers and driving profitable sales growth across assigned accounts in the territory. You will act as a trusted advisor to customers, match product and service solutions to their needs, and deliver against sales and profit goals.
- Develop new business and grow existing accounts to meet sales targets and special objectives.
- Prospect, qualify, and prioritize leads in line with account stratification.
- Research customer needs and propose product/service mixes that drive customer success.
- Present product suggestions, pricing and menu recommendations to customers.
- Provide product training and ongoing support to customer staff.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and product innovations; share insights with customers.
- Manage customer orders, troubleshoot issues (stock, special orders, low inventory), and coordinate with internal teams.
- Communicate and, when necessary, collect accounts receivable in coordination with credit.
- Drive your personal vehicle to customer sites, meetings, and industry events.
- Participate in sales meetings, promotions, customer events and training activities.
- Prepare administrative sales materials such as quotes, budgets, reports and sales records.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are (Qualifications)
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related field OR HSD/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent experience, including completion of a recognized sales internship).
- Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company insurability standards.
- Current automobile insurance meeting stated liability limits (see Certifications & Requirements).
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Comfortable with evening, weekend or holiday work when customer needs require it.
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Preferred
- Bi-lingual candidates a plus.
- Background in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales or culinary roles preferred.
Certificates, Licenses & Requirements
- Automobile insurance with typical limits (e.g., bodily injury $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident; property damage $100,000 — per client policy).
- Pass required employment testing.
- Sign client’s protective covenants/non-compete/confidentiality agreement as required.
- Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base compensation: $52,968 per year (estimated).
- Bonus/commission and promotional incentives available.

Territory & Location
This opening serves multiple territories in Maine (example locations noted in source materials include Littleton, Auburn, Lewiston, Wells and Kittery). Role requires regular travel within the assigned territory and use of a personal vehicle for customer visits.
