Job Summary

This is an outside sales position responsible for promoting Confidential Client’s products and services and for building relationships with new and existing accounts within the assigned territory (Atlantic and Cape May County). The main focus is helping customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals set by the company. This role may require non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to meet customer needs. Selected candidates will start with the upcoming sales class.


Responsibilities

  • Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth within assigned territory
  • Seek and qualify prospects following account stratification goals
  • Research customer business needs and develop product/service mixes to meet those needs
  • Evaluate market trends and recommend products to customers
  • Track competitor products, pricing, and market conditions and share value-added insights with customers
  • Answer customer questions about products, pricing, availability, and usage
  • Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel
  • Drive personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, company meetings, and events
  • Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary, coordinating with credit as needed
  • Manage deliveries to the published routing schedule and troubleshoot order-process issues
  • Participate in company promotions, customer visits, and events
  • Attend sales and district meetings and engage in ongoing training
  • Assist with training new employees when requested
  • Review and analyze reports such as special-order requests, customer bids, and sales/gross profit margin data
  • Perform administrative duties including sales budgets and reports, maintaining records, processing credits and pick-ups, preparing quotes and menu suggestions
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related discipline OR
  • HSD/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience, or equivalent experience (including completion of the Confidential Client Sales Internship)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual candidates preferred
  • Restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
  • Current automobile insurance meeting minimum liability limits (example: bodily injury and property damage limits as required by the hiring organization)

Requirements

  • Pass employment testing
  • Must sign Confidential Client Protective Covenants Agreement
  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the territory (Atlantic and Cape May County)

Professional Skills

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English (bilingual is a plus)

Location & Travel

  • Territory: Atlantic and Cape May County — position based in Atlantic City, NJ
