What You’ll Do

This is an outside, territory-based sales role focused on helping foodservice customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals. You will:

  • Develop new business and grow existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth within an assigned territory.
  • Qualify prospects and execute account penetration strategies aligned with company account segmentation.
  • Analyze customer needs and recommend a mix of products and services to drive sales and margin.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and product innovations; provide customers with value-added recommendations.
  • Provide product information and on-site training for customer staff as needed.
  • Manage order and delivery exceptions; coordinate with credit and transportation teams to resolve issues.
  • Drive your personal vehicle to customer accounts, company meetings, and industry events.
  • Prepare sales quotes, menu suggestions, budgets, and regular sales reports; track accounts receivable and collections when required.
  • Participate in sales meetings, promotions, customer events, and ongoing training programs.
  • Assist with onboarding and mentoring new sales team members as requested.

Who You Are (Qualifications)

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related discipline OR
  • High school diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience, or equivalent relevant experience (including completion of a Sales Internship).

Preferred:

  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Prior restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience is a plus.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company insurability standards.
  • Current automobile insurance that meets specified liability minimums (see below).
  • Willingness to drive within the assigned territory and attend occasional non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) as customer needs require.
  • Must pass employment testing and sign the Confidential Client protective covenants agreement.
  • Reside in—or be willing to relocate to—the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory.

Insurance limits (as required by the client):

  • Bodily injury: $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident
  • Property damage: $100,000

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated base pay: $61,560 per year (estimated).
  • Competitive base salary plus bonus and promotional incentive opportunities.
  • Car allowance or mileage reimbursement policies apply (note: mileage reimbursement referenced for candidates in CA).

Location & Travel

  • Job location: Allen Park, MI (territory-based).
  • This role requires regular driving to customer locations and in-person customer engagement.
  • Some travel for industry events, conventions, and district meetings is expected.
