Sales and Operations Management Trainee

What You’ll Do
This Management Trainee role places you on a fast track into frontline sales and operations leadership at a busy logistics & warehouse location in Fort Myers, FL. You’ll learn the business end-to-end — sales, operations, finance, customer service and technology — and apply that training to run daily site activities, support customers, and grow local business.
- Develop solutions for consumer and commercial customers, including local and national accounts
- Learn and apply sales processes to generate new leads and expand customer relationships
- Oversee fleet and equipment productivity, balancing utilization, profitability and customer satisfaction
- Deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment and resolve issues quickly
- Collaborate with a high-energy team and participate in ongoing coaching and mentoring
Major Responsibilities
- Support sales efforts to win and retain accounts, including outreach and follow-up
- Manage inventory of trucks/vehicles and related assets to meet utilization and service goals
- Coordinate day-to-day operations: scheduling, dispatch, asset checks, and customer pickups/returns
- Track and report operational metrics and contribute to continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with company policies and DOT/safety regulations when applicable
Compensation & Schedule
This location offers a base pay of $52,000 per year (equivalent to $25.00/hr), plus shift differentials. Weekend shift differential: $2.00 for Saturdays and Sundays (regardless of start time). Advancement opportunities typically follow a 6–9 month training period and include a pay increase at that time.
Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (required); Business or Marketing concentration preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Internship or customer-facing work experience preferred
- Results-oriented with strong attention to detail and time management
- Valid driver’s license and willingness/ability to drive company vehicles (including up to a 26' box truck)
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance
Safety & Driving / DOT Requirements
This position requires driving customer and company vehicles and is regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). Employment will require maintaining a driver qualification file, which typically includes:
- Annual motor vehicle record (MVR) check
- Successfully completed DOT physical
- Safety Performance History records request from prior employers (last 3 years)
- CDL holders: DOT drug screening within 30 days of hire and FMCSA Clearinghouse review
Employment is contingent on completing a company application, background check (employment, education, criminal history), and drug screening as required.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands/arms
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs (12 kg)
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
