Overview
This listing is for the Sales Leadership Program (entry-level) based in Houston, TX. Careertakes is recruiting on behalf of a Confidential Client in the Sales sector. The program trains participants to become regional scrap buyers through a structured 6–12 month hands-on development experience. The role is field-based, market-facing, and requires frequent travel during training and likely relocation afterward.
What You’ll Do
- Participate in a 6–12 month, hands-on training program focused on the full scrap buying process and regional market dynamics.
- Learn and model a "Safety First" culture, including OSHA and site safety programs.
- Build and manage customer and vendor relationships to deliver excellent customer service.
- Conduct field visits to scrap yards and customers; gather market intelligence and communicate regional forecasts.
- Support operations teams and assist in resolving customer, vendor, and supplier issues.
- Develop conflict resolution and relationship management skills.
- Remain current on industry trends through publications and trade associations.
- Work outdoors in industrial environments and in various weather conditions.
- Expect frequent travel during the training period; relocation after training is required.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred majors: Business, Sales, Economics, Finance, or related).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
- Excellent organization, customer-service orientation, and adaptability.
- Comfortable making decisions quickly and confidently.
Preferred:
- Leadership experience (college organizations, work, or volunteer).
- Prior sales or customer-service experience.
- Continuous improvement mindset and creative problem solving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay, Benefits & Career Growth
- Base pay (as listed): US$2,625.00 - US$4,000.00 per year.

Other Requirements & Notes
