What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Sales Engineer focused on market development to grow business in new and emerging markets. This field-facing role blends engineering knowledge with solution-focused selling to identify applications, qualify opportunities, and close business across multiple industries.

  • Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within assigned target markets to expand market share.
  • Use technical expertise to uncover unmet needs, define process requirements, and recommend engineered solutions that deliver measurable performance and ROI.
  • Build deep product and application knowledge of coating and equipment systems to support effective selling and competitive differentiation.
  • Analyze customer processes and performance goals, translating findings into viable system recommendations and proposals.
  • Prepare and present customer-facing technical presentations, application proposals, and business cases that articulate performance advantages and total-value benefits.
  • Provide high-level technical support during installations, start-ups, and initial production runs to ensure successful adoption and long-term satisfaction.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback to identify new application and product development opportunities.
  • Transition successful new applications/products into standard sales and technician support workflows.

Regular domestic and international travel is expected — approximately 50% on average.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field (completed by or before December 2026).
  • Prior work experience in an engineering- or sales-related role; internships and co-ops qualify.
  • Strong sales mindset with proven ability to identify opportunities, influence technical buying decisions, and drive new business.
  • Ability to evaluate complex manufacturing processes and recommend engineered systems tailored to performance, quality, and throughput goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to translate technical concepts into clear customer value propositions.
  • Solid project coordination and analytical skills; comfortable managing multi-step sales processes.
  • Able to maintain a passport and travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with web handling, vision inspection, or fluid handling solutions.
  • Demonstrated success working independently in a field-based, customer-facing role with regional or national travel.
