Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Sales Engineer (District Sales Manager in Training) based in Waunakee, WI. This role provides structured cross-functional training (3–9+ months) across customer service, engineering, and sales to prepare you for a District Sales Manager assignment. After training you must be willing to relocate to a District Sales Manager position (which may be in a state other than Wisconsin).

What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is looking for a motivated early-career engineer with sales aptitude who wants to develop into a District Sales Manager. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Develop product and application knowledge through rotations in Customer Service, Engineering, and Sales.
  • Review and update territory plans; set and pursue sales goals.
  • Prepare and deliver product presentations to new and existing customers.
  • Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products/solutions.
  • Prepare quotations and negotiate pricing/terms consistent with company policies.
  • Use CRM to document sales calls, leads, orders, and expenses in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate product installation, operation, and maintenance to customers as needed.
  • Follow up on sales leads and assist in expediting customer orders.
  • Analyze customer and competitor information to identify market opportunities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement, suggestion, and cost-savings programs.
  • Attend sales meetings and trainings to remain current on products and industry trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (required).
  • Strong communication skills for customer-facing presentations and internal collaboration.
  • Willingness to relocate to a District Sales Manager position in a state other than Wisconsin upon completion of training.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States (Confidential Client will follow applicable law regarding sponsorship).
  • Comfortable using computers, smartphones, and CRM systems.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Customer service or application engineering exposure.
  • Basic sales experience or demonstrated sales aptitude.
  • Ability to travel as required for trainings and customer visits.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated integrity and professional conduct in customer/vendor relations.

Compensation & Work Policy
