What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join its manufacturing-technology sales team in Irving, TX. This entry-level sales role focuses on identifying and qualifying new opportunities for enterprise manufacturing software (ERP, MES, CMMS, analytics) and supporting the sales process from lead to handoff.

  • Prospect and develop outbound leads through targeted outreach (phone, email, LinkedIn).
  • Respond promptly to inbound inquiries and web leads; qualify and triage incoming interest.
  • Conduct discovery to qualify prospects against defined criteria (industry, product fit, urgency).
  • Book meetings and coordinate handoffs to outside sales / Account Executives.
  • Maintain accurate records and activity in CRM (log calls, emails, notes, and next steps).
  • Support creation of low-complexity quotes and proposals using provided templates.
  • Collaborate with technical, purchasing, and operations teams to track order progress and resolve routine customer issues.
  • Provide basic product information and escalate technical questions to specialists.
  • Track and report on metrics (leads, meetings, pipeline progression) and iterate outreach based on results.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring future sponsorship by Confidential Client.
  • Current, valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Resilience and persistence; comfortable handling rejection in outbound sales.
  • Basic research skills to understand manufacturing trends, customer pain points, and competitors.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and prospecting platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
  • Self-starter mindset; ability to work independently and meet targets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or related field — or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years of sales, business development, or customer-support experience (industrial, electrical, automation, or SaaS preferred).
  • Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar CRMs.
  • Comfort working with manufacturing software concepts (ERP, MES, CMMS, analytics).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Metrics-driven, organized, and process-oriented with a team-first attitude.

Working Conditions

  • This is primarily an in-office role based in Irving, TX; work will include long periods online and on the phone.
  • Occasional travel for sales events, trade shows, and training may be required.
  • Some physical activity may be needed (lifting up to 50 lbs., sorting, standing) depending on activities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated base: $69,953 per year (estimated).
  • Bonus-eligible compensation may apply.
