What You’ll Do

This entry-level Sales Development Representative will support territory coverage across the middle of Delaware, filling open territories as needed and helping maximize supplier brand sales to on‑ and off‑premise accounts. This role may also assist merchandising during peak periods.

Key responsibilities:

  • Call on accounts and cover daily routes using efficient routing patterns.
  • Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations that balance client priorities and customer needs (displays, new products, cold box/shelf/back bar placements, promotions).
  • Maintain product levels in accounts by taking inventory and restocking (where legal).
  • Use effective point-of-sale materials to ensure brand visibility.
  • Collect payments or process remittances where legally permissible.
  • Conduct brand education and staff training sessions for accounts.
  • Service accounts in extenuating circumstances; handle customer issues and escalate to management when needed.
  • Track account purchase history, pricing, and programming to plan sales and merchandising activity.
  • Complete national-account surveys and ensure compliance where applicable.
  • Achieve distribution, volume, and activity goals set by management.
  • Manage account receivables, credits, and returns as required.
  • Attend and participate in weekly sales meetings to stay informed on supplier and company updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent training and work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales.
  • Basic PC skills (MS Office, presentation software).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; diplomacy and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and in teams, and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and reporting skills; sound judgment and problem-solving.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to hold a Solicitor’s Permit (where applicable).
  • Familiarity with wine and spirits or beverage industry experience.

Compensation & Work Type

  • Base salary: $45,000 per year.
  • Car allowance: $3,000 per year.
  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Job location type: Telecommute / territory-based (role covers Middletown, Dover, Smyrna areas; local candidates encouraged to apply).

Physical Requirements & Expectations

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands/fingers to operate computer and phone.
  • Regularly required to reach overhead, squat, and bend.
  • Able to carry and lift 45–65 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Location & Travel

This position covers territory in the middle of Delaware. Candidates in Middletown, Dover, and Smyrna are encouraged to apply. Regular travel within the assigned territory is expected.
