Job Summary

This outside sales / territory role is responsible for promoting products and services, building relationships with new and existing accounts, and driving profitable sales growth within the assigned Tyler, TX territory. The candidate must reside within 30 miles of the defined territory.

This role may require occasional non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to meet customer needs.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth
  • Seek and qualify prospects in line with account stratification goals
  • Research customer needs and recommend product and service mixes that meet their goals
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity; share value-added insights with customers
  • Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel
  • Drive a personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, and company meetings
  • Communicate with credit/finance teams to collect receivables and manage account balances
  • Coordinate with transportation/delivery teams and troubleshoot order or inventory issues
  • Participate in company promotions, customer visits, events, and sales meetings
  • Prepare sales quotes, menu suggestions, reports, and maintain accurate sales records
  • Engage in ongoing training and assist with onboarding new employees as requested

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR
  • High school diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent relatable experience, including completion of a sales internship)
  • Preferred: bilingual candidates, restaurant management or chef/culinary experience, or prior foodservice outside sales

Requirements & Compliance

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no multiple DUIs within the last 2 years)
  • Current automobile insurance with the following limits: bodily injury $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident; property damage $100,000
  • Submit to pre-employment screening (drug test, background check)
  • Must sign Confidential Client protective covenants agreement as a condition of employment where applicable
  • Reside within (or be willing to relocate to) the geographic vicinity of the territory (must reside within 30 miles)
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Professional Skills & Competencies

  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Sales skills: prospecting, relationship building, follow-up, negotiation and closing
  • Competencies: building trust and customer loyalty, adaptability, time and territory management, teamwork

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated base salary: $64,345 per year (estimated)
