Job Summary
This is an outside territory sales role responsible for promoting products and services and building relationships with new and existing accounts. The main focus is helping customers succeed while meeting sales and profit goals set by the confidential client. The territory for this opportunity is Salina, KS. This posting is listed in Topeka, KS. The position may require some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to meet customer needs.
What You’ll Do
- Develop new business, grow existing accounts, and minimize lost business within an assigned territory
- Seek and qualify prospects according to account stratification goals
- Research customer needs and recommend a mix of products and services to meet those needs
- Evaluate market trends and recommend customer-appropriate products and promotions
- Provide product information and deliver practical training to customer staff
- Answer customer questions on products, pricing, availability, and usage
- Drive to customer accounts, industry events, and company meetings using a personal vehicle
- Work with credit and transportation teams to manage receivables and deliveries; troubleshoot order issues
- Participate in sales meetings, promotions, and customer events; engage in ongoing training
- Prepare sales reports, budgets, quotes, menu suggestions, and maintain sales records
- Assist in training new employees and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related field OR HSD/GED plus 3 years’ restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent), including completion of a sales internship
- Preferred: Bi-lingual candidates; restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience
Requirements & Conditions
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no multiple DUIs within the last 2 years)
- Current automobile insurance meeting required minimum liability limits (example: bodily injury $100,000 per person / $300,000 per accident; property damage $100,000) — check local requirements with confidential client
- Must submit to pre-employment testing (drug screen, background check)
- Must sign confidential client protective covenants agreement as a condition of employment, where applicable
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory
Professional Skills & Competencies
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to read, write, and speak English (Bi-lingual preferred)

Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated pay: $48,638 per year (estimated)
