What You’ll Do
This outside sales role supports the Longview territory (ideal candidates reside within ~30 miles of the assigned territory). You will build relationships with new and existing foodservice accounts, help customers grow their businesses, and meet sales and profit goals set by the confidential client.
- Develop new business, grow existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth within an assigned territory.
- Qualify prospects and manage account stratification goals.
- Assess customer needs and recommend product/service mixes to meet business objectives.
- Monitor market and competitor activity; recommend products and pricing as a value-add.
- Provide product information, demonstrations, and practical training to customer staff.
- Manage order and delivery issues, troubleshoot inventory or special-order problems.
- Drive your personal vehicle to customer accounts, events, conventions, and company meetings.
- Communicate with credit/finance teams when necessary to collect receivables.
- Prepare sales budgets, quotes, menus, reports, and maintain sales records.
- Attend sales and district meetings, participate in promotions and customer events.
- Engage in ongoing training; assist with onboarding/training new employees as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline
OR HSD/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B/outside sales experience, or equivalent relevant experience (including completion of a sales internship). - Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company insurability standards.
- Current automobile insurance that meets required liability limits (see Certificates & Requirements).
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Proficiency with basic PC skills and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Preferred:
- Bi-lingual candidates (Spanish or other languages) a plus.
- Prior restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience.
Certificates & Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Current automobile insurance meeting these limits: Bodily injury — $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident; Property damage — $100,000.
- Pass pre-employment testing.
- Must sign the Confidential Client Protective Covenants Agreement.
- Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory.
