What You’ll Do

This is an outside sales role focused on building strong customer relationships and driving profitable sales within an assigned territory. You will promote product and service solutions, grow new business, support existing accounts, and help customers succeed while meeting sales and profitability targets. The role may require some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to meet customer needs.


Responsibilities

  • Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth.
  • Seek and qualify prospects following account stratification goals.
  • Research customer needs and recommend product and service mixes to meet those needs.
  • Monitor market trends and competitors; recommend products and pricing to customers.
  • Provide product information and practical training to customer staff.
  • Drive your personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, and company meetings as required.
  • Communicate with the credit department and collect accounts receivable when necessary.
  • Manage deliveries to routing schedules and troubleshoot order-process issues (out-of-stock items, special orders, low inventory).
  • Participate in promotions, customer visits, events, and sales meetings.
  • Prepare sales budgets, reports, sales quotes, menu suggestions, and maintain sales records.
  • Assist in ongoing training and help onboard new employees as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required education/experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline
    • OR HSD/GED with 3 years’ restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience, or equivalent related experience (including completion of a sales internship).
  • Preferred:
    • Bilingual skills a plus.
    • Restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience preferred.

Requirements & Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards.
  • Current automobile insurance with limits of liability (as a guideline from the source posting):
    • Bodily injury — $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident
    • Property damage — $100,000
  • Must pass employment testing and sign the employer’s protective covenants agreement.
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $48,653 per year (estimated figure displayed in the source posting).
