The Sales Consultant at Confidential Client is responsible for outside sales activities, promoting products and services, and building strong relationships with new and existing customers within the assigned territory. Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an experienced outside Sales Consultant to build and manage customer relationships, grow territory revenue, and help foodservice customers succeed. This role focuses on new business development, account penetration, and maintaining high customer satisfaction in a designated territory. The role requires regular customer visits and may include non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
What You’ll Do
- Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve sales and profit goals within your assigned territory.
- Seek, qualify, and prioritize prospects following account stratification.
- Research customer needs and propose product/service mixes to meet those needs.
- Recommend products based on market trends and customer goals.
- Provide product information and deliver practical training to customer personnel.
- Manage order, delivery and issue resolution processes in coordination with operations teams.
- Communicate with credit/finance as needed to collect receivables.
- Participate in customer events, promotions, sales meetings and ongoing training.
- Prepare sales budgets, reports, quotes, and menu suggestions; maintain accurate sales records.
- Assist in the training of new sales team members when requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Location & Travel
- Sales territory: Santa Clarita, CA (zip 93030 area)
- Travel: Up to 50% (customer visits, meetings, conventions)
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $48,600 — $81,000 per year (range provided in compliance with state pay-transparency laws)
- Eligibility for incentive/bonus plans and promotional incentives
- Mileage reimbursement / car allowance where applicable and cell phone provided

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR
- High school diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent), including completion of a relevant sales internship.
- Valid driver’s license and personal automobile insurance meeting insurability and liability requirements.
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual candidates preferred
- Prior experience in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or culinary/chef background
