Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an outside Sales Consultant to develop new business, grow existing accounts, and support customers in the foodservice distribution channel. This is a territory-based, full-time outside sales role that may require some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to meet customer needs.
- Estimated pay: $76,729 per year (estimated)
- Location: Salmon Creek, WA (must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory)
What You’ll Do
Confidential Client expects the Sales Consultant to:
- Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve sales growth and territory objectives
- Qualify prospects and prioritize accounts according to company segmentation
- Research customer needs and recommend product and service mixes to meet those needs
- Evaluate market trends and make product recommendations based on customer goals
- Provide product information and practical on-site training to customer staff
- Answer customer questions about products, pricing, availability, and use
- Drive a personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, and company meetings
- Manage collections and coordinate with credit teams as needed
- Work with the transportation team to manage delivery schedules and resolve order issues (out-of-stock, special orders, inventory)
- Participate in promotions, customer visits, events, and sales/district meetings
- Prepare sales quotes, menu suggestions, budgets, and reports; maintain sales records
- Review and analyze sales, margin, and special-order reports
- Assist in training new employees and engage in ongoing professional development
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or a related discipline OR HSD/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience, or equivalent related experience (including completion of the company sales internship)
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance that meets company insurability standards (see below)
- Must pass employment testing
- Willingness to sign the Confidential Client Protective Covenants Agreement
- Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual candidates preferred
- Background in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or culinary/chef experience a plus
Certificates, Licenses & Insurance Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Automobile insurance that meets the following limits (as required by the client): Bodily injury — $100,000 each person and $300,000 each accident; Property damage — $100,000
