What You’ll Do

This is an outside sales role focused on building relationships and growing revenue within an assigned territory. You will represent the Confidential Client’s products and services to restaurants and foodservice operators, help customers succeed, and meet sales and profitability targets.

  • Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to drive profitable sales growth.
  • Seek and qualify prospects following account stratification goals.
  • Research customer needs and recommend product/service mixes to meet those needs.
  • Evaluate market trends and recommend products based on customer goals.
  • Stay informed about product innovations, competitors’ offerings, pricing, and market conditions.
  • Answer customer questions about products, pricing, availability and product use.
  • Provide product information and hands-on training to customer staff.
  • Drive personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, and company meetings.
  • Communicate and help resolve accounts receivable issues, working with credit teams as needed.
  • Manage deliveries against routing schedules and troubleshoot order issues (out-of-stock, special orders, low inventory).
  • Participate in company promotions, customer events, and sales/district meetings.
  • Prepare sales budgets, reports, quotes, and menu suggestions; maintain sales records and process credits/pick-ups.
  • Engage in ongoing training and assist with onboarding new employees as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

Required education / experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related discipline OR
  • HSD/GED plus 3 years’ restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent), including completion of a relevant sales internship.

Preferred:

  • Bi-lingual candidates highly valued.
  • Restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience preferred.

Certificates, licenses & requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards.
  • Current automobile insurance meeting the stated minimum limits (bodily injury and property damage).
  • Ability to pass employment testing.
  • Must sign Confidential Client Protective Covenants Agreement.
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory.

Skills & Competencies

  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to read, write and speak English.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $62,629 per year (estimated).
