Sales Consultant - Ventura/Ojai/Oxnard
The Sales Consultant is responsible for outside sales activities, promoting Confidential Client's products and services while building and maintaining strong customer relationships within an assigned territory. This role focuses on achieving sales and profit goals through new business development, account penetration, and providing value-added services including product training and market insights. The position requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and occasional non-traditional hours to meet customer needs effectively.

What You’ll Do
This is an outside, territory-based sales role focused on building relationships with new and existing foodservice customers and helping them succeed by recommending products and services that meet their needs. You will achieve sales and profitability goals while representing Confidential Client in the Oxnard, CA territory. The position may require occasional non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
- Develop new business and grow existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth.
- Qualify prospects and follow assigned account stratification strategies.
- Research customer needs and create product/service mixes that drive customer success.
- Recommend products based on market trends and customer objectives.
- Provide product information and on-site training to customer personnel.
- Manage order issues and coordinate with transportation and credit teams.
- Drive to customer accounts, company events and meetings as required.
- Participate in sales meetings, training, and customer events; assist in new-hire training as requested.
- Perform administrative duties: sales reports, quotes, menu suggestions, credits and account follow-up.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Estimated pay: $74,727 per year (estimated).

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related discipline OR HSD/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent experience). Completion of a sales internship is considered relevant experience.
- Valid driver’s license with driving record meeting company insurability standards.
- Current automobile insurance meeting required limits: bodily injury $100,000 per person / $300,000 per accident; property damage $100,000.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Experience in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or as a chef is a plus.
Requirements & Conditions
- Must pass employment testing.
- Must sign Confidential Client’s protective covenants agreement.
- Reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory.
- Regular driving to customer locations is required. Personal vehicle use will be expected subject to insurability standards.
