Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Outside Sales Consultant to service the Omaha, NE territory. This role focuses on building and growing customer relationships in the foodservice and restaurant segments to drive sales, profit, and customer success.

Job Summary

This outside sales role is responsible for promoting products and services, building relationships with new and existing accounts, and helping customers succeed while meeting sales and profitability goals for the assigned territory. The role may require non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to support customers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth.
  • Prospect, qualify leads, and manage accounts according to territory strategy.
  • Assess customer needs and recommend product/service mixes that meet business goals.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity; share insights with customers.
  • Provide product information, practical training, and value-added service to customer personnel.
  • Drive to customer locations, conventions, and company meetings as needed.
  • Coordinate with credit and transportation teams on accounts receivable and delivery issues.
  • Support customer events, promotions, and company functions.
  • Attend sales and district meetings; engage in ongoing training.
  • Prepare sales budgets, quotes, menu suggestions, and maintain accurate sales records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related discipline OR HSD/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B/outside sales experience, or equivalent experience (including completion of a sales internship).

Preferred:

  • Bi-lingual candidates preferred.
  • Background in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience is a plus.

Certificates, Licenses & Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with an insurability record that meets company standards.
  • Current automobile insurance meeting required liability limits (example from source: $100,000 per person / $300,000 per accident bodily injury; $100,000 property damage) — verify local requirements with recruiter.
  • Pass employment testing.
  • Must sign the confidential client protective covenants agreement.
  • Must reside or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Professional Skills & Competencies

  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills — ability to read, write, and speak English; bi-lingual is a plus.
  • Competencies: building trust, customer loyalty, follow-up, sales ability/persuasiveness, managing work, adaptability, communication.

  • Reported base pay (from source): $100,000 per year.
