Overview
This Outside Sales role (Sales Consultant) supports a confidential client in the foodservice/sales industry. The position focuses on building relationships with new and existing accounts, driving profitable sales growth, and helping customers succeed through product and service solutions. This role may require some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) and travel (up to 25%).

What You’ll Do
- Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth within an assigned territory
- Qualify prospects and follow account stratification goals
- Research customer business needs and recommend product/service mixes to meet those needs
- Track market trends, product innovations, and competitors; share relevant insights with customers
- Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel
- Answer customer questions about product availability, pricing, and use
- Drive a personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, and company meetings as required
- Manage accounts receivable communication in coordination with the credit department
- Coordinate with transportation to manage deliveries and troubleshoot order issues
- Participate in company promotions, customer events, and sales/district meetings
- Review and analyze sales reports, special-order requests, and bid files
- Perform administrative duties: sales budgets, records, credits, quotes, menu suggestions, and filing
- Engage in ongoing training and assist with onboarding new employees as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related discipline OR HSD/GED plus 3 years’ restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent)
- Preferred: Restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience
- Bilingual candidates encouraged (preferred)
Certificates, Licenses & Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with driving record meeting company insurability standards
- Current automobile insurance meeting the following limits: Bodily injury — $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident; Property damage — $100,000
- Pass employment testing as required
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Must sign the confidential client Protective Covenants Agreement
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office
