Sales Consultant — Outside Sales (Miller Park, VA)
Confidential Client is seeking an experienced Sales Consultant (outside sales) to manage and grow accounts in the Miller Park, VA territory. This field sales role focuses on building relationships with new and existing foodservice and restaurant customers, driving profitable sales growth, and delivering outstanding customer service.
Estimated pay: $82,757 per year (estimated)
What You’ll Do
- Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth within an assigned territory.
- Seek, qualify, and prioritize prospects in line with account stratification goals.
- Research customer needs and propose tailored product and service mixes.
- Recommend products to customers based on market trends and customer goals.
- Provide product information, demonstrations, and practical training to customer staff.
- Respond to customer questions on product availability, pricing, and usage.
- Manage order issues (out-of-stock, special orders, inventory) and coordinate with distribution/transportation teams.
- Collect and communicate on accounts receivable as necessary, working with the credit team.
- Participate in sales and district meetings, promotional events, and ongoing training.
- Prepare sales budgets, quotes, menu suggestions, and maintain accurate sales records and reports.
- Represent the company professionally at customer visits, industry events, and community activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are / Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR HSD/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B/outside sales experience, or equivalent experience (including completion of a sales internship).
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record meeting company insurability standards.
- Current automobile insurance meeting company minimum limits.
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Preferred
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Prior restaurant management, foodservice outside sales or chef experience is a plus.
Required as condition of hire
- Pass employment testing.
- Sign the company's protective covenants/confidentiality agreement.
- Live in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory.

Location & Travel
- This is an outside sales role based in Miller Park, VA. Expect regular in-territory travel using a personal vehicle to visit customer accounts, attend conventions, and participate in company meetings.
