Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Outside Sales professional to cover a downtown Los Angeles territory. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong customer relationships, driving profitable sales growth, and supporting restaurants and foodservice operators with product and service solutions.

Compensation range (as provided by client): $50,800 — $84,600 per year. This range complies with state pay-transparency rules. Final pay will depend on experience, skills, and other lawful factors.


What You’ll Do

This is an outside sales role responsible for promoting the client’s products and services and growing accounts within an assigned territory.

  • Develop new business, expand existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth.
  • Seek and qualify prospects per account-stratification goals.
  • Research customer needs and create tailored mixes of products and services.
  • Recommend product solutions based on market trends and customer goals.
  • Keep customers informed about product innovations, pricing, and competitive activity.
  • Answer product, pricing, availability, and usage questions.
  • Provide on-site product information and practical training for customer staff.
  • Drive to customer accounts, conventions, and company meetings (role requires personal vehicle use).
  • Coordinate with credit and transportation teams to manage receivables and delivery routing.
  • Troubleshoot order issues (out-of-stock, special orders, low inventory).
  • Participate in promotions, customer events, and sales/district meetings.
  • Prepare sales budgets, reports, quotes, menu suggestions, and maintain sales records.
  • Engage in ongoing training and assist with onboarding new sales staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are / Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related field OR High School Diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent experience, including completion of a relevant sales internship).
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance meeting company insurability requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English or other relevant languages).
  • Prior restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience.

Other Requirements

  • Pass pre-employment testing as required by client.
  • Agree to and sign Confidential Client’s protective covenants or similar agreements, when applicable.
  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay range: $50,800 — $84,600 per year (provided by client).

Travel & Location

  • Primary location: Los Angeles, CA (Downtown Los Angeles territory).
  • Travel up to ~50% may be required to visit customer accounts, events, and meetings.
  • Role requires driving a personal vehicle to customer sites and company events; meeting insurance and driving-record standards is required.
