Sales Consultant
The Sales Consultant at Confidential Client is responsible for promoting products and services through outside sales, building and maintaining customer relationships, and achieving sales and profit goals within an assigned territory. This role involves developing new business, penetrating existing accounts, providing product information and training, and participating in sales meetings and company events. The position requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and the ability to work some non-traditional hours to meet customer needs.

What You’ll Do
This is an outside, territory-based sales role focused on helping foodservice customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals set by the confidential client. You will build relationships with new and existing accounts across a defined territory, sell products and services, provide value-added support and training, and execute territory plans to grow revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth.
- Identify, qualify and prioritize prospects using account stratification goals.
- Understand customer needs and recommend product/service mixes that drive customer success.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity; share insights and recommended solutions with customers.
- Respond to customer inquiries on product, pricing, availability and use.
- Provide product information and on-site practical training to customer staff.
- Drive to customer locations, company meetings and events as required.
- Support collections and work with credit as necessary to manage receivables.
- Coordinate with operations to manage order/delivery issues (stock, special orders, inventory).
- Participate in promotions, customer events and sales meetings.
- Maintain sales records, prepare quotes, menu suggestions and administrative sales reports.
- Assist in onboarding and training new sales employees as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related field OR HSD/GED plus 3 years’ restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or completion of the Sales Internship) or equivalent relevant experience.
- Preferred: Restaurant management, foodservice outside sales or chef experience.
- Preferred: Bi‑lingual candidates encouraged to apply.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the company’s insurability standards.
- Must carry current automobile insurance (source post required limits noted).
- Must reside in (or be willing to relocate to) the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory.

Requirements & Additional Notes
- Pass employment testing as required.
- Must sign Confidential Client Protective Covenants Agreement.
- May require non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to meet customer needs.
- Car allowance or mileage reimbursement may be provided (note: mileage reimbursement for candidates in CA per source).

Compensation (Estimated)
- Estimated base: $54,145 per year (source estimate). Actual compensation may vary based on experience, location and role level. This posting does not guarantee specific pay — final compensation determined by the confidential client.
