Role overview
Confidential Client is hiring an outside Sales Consultant to develop relationships with new and existing foodservice accounts in the Lake Dallas, TX area. This field-facing role focuses on growing sales and margin by delivering product knowledge, tailored solutions for restaurant and hospitality customers, and excellent customer service. The position may require non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to meet customer needs.
What You’ll Do
- Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth within your assigned territory
- Identify and qualify prospects using company account stratification goals
- Assess customer needs and recommend product/service mixes to meet those needs
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity; recommend items that support customer goals
- Provide product training and practical on-site demonstrations to customer staff
- Answer customer questions on product use, availability, and pricing
- Drive to customer accounts, conventions, and company meetings using a personal vehicle
- Manage collections and work with credit as needed to collect balances in accordance with approved credit terms
- Coordinate with transportation to ensure accurate deliveries and troubleshoot order problems
- Participate in promotions, customer events, and district meetings
- Review sales reports and special-order requests; prepare sales quotes, menu suggestions, budgets, and regular reports
- Support training initiatives and assist in onboarding new sales colleagues
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related field OR HSD/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or completion of a relevant sales internship)
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance that meets company insurability standards
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office
Preferred
- Bilingual candidates (Spanish or other languages) encouraged
- Prior restaurant management, chef, or foodservice outside sales experience preferred
- Strong relationship-building and sales persuasion skills
Requirements & Compliance
- Must pass employment testing
- Will be required to sign the employer’s protective covenants agreement
- Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States

- Estimated base (from source): $44,199 per year (estimate)
