Job Summary
This is an outside sales position responsible for promoting Confidential Client’s products and services and for building strong relationships with new and existing accounts across an assigned territory in Kansas City, KS. The role focuses on helping customers succeed while meeting sales, profitability, and service goals. Some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) may be required to meet customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth and territory objectives.
- Qualify prospects following account stratification and sales plans.
- Assess customer needs and recommend product and service mixes to meet business goals.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity; advise customers on relevant product innovations.
- Provide product information and practical training to customer staff.
- Drive a personal vehicle to customer accounts, events, and meetings.
- Communicate with credit/finance teams to manage accounts receivable and collect balances as needed.
- Coordinate with operations/transportation to manage deliveries and resolve order issues.
- Prepare sales quotes, menu suggestions, budgets and regular sales reports; maintain accurate sales records.
- Participate in sales and district meetings, promotions, and ongoing training.
- Assist in onboarding and mentoring new sales employees when requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field; OR HSD/GED plus 3 years’ restaurant management, B2B, or outside sales experience (or completion of a relevant sales internship).
- Preferred: Experience in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or culinary/chef background.

- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance meeting Confidential Client insurability requirements:
- Bodily injury — $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident
- Property damage — $100,000
Professional Skills & Competencies
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills — ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual a plus.
- Sales ability, follow-up, adaptability, time and territory management.
- Customer-focused with strong relationship- and trust-building skills.
Requirements & Conditions
- Pass employment testing and background checks as applicable.
- Must sign Confidential Client’s protective covenants agreement (or similar company agreements).
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory.
- Ability to drive a personal vehicle for customer calls and events.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated annual compensation (as displayed in original posting): $78,776 per year (estimated).
