Overview

This outside Sales Consultant role supports a Confidential Client in the foodservice/restaurant channel. You will manage a sales territory (Jefferson City area), build relationships with new and existing accounts, and help customers grow their business while meeting sales and profitability targets.

Estimated pay: $48,859 per year (estimated). Additional compensation includes bonus and promotional incentive opportunities; car allowance or mileage reimbursement where required by law; and a comprehensive benefits package.


What You’ll Do

As a territory Sales Consultant, you will:

  • Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to drive profitable sales growth.
  • Qualify and pursue prospects per account stratification goals.
  • Assess customer needs and recommend product and service mixes to meet those needs.
  • Track market trends and competitor activity; recommend products and programs to customers.
  • Provide product information, training, and value-added service to customer personnel.
  • Drive to customer sites, conventions, and company meetings as required.
  • Manage order and delivery issues (out of stock items, special orders, inventory shortfalls) and coordinate with operations and transportation teams.
  • Support collections and work with credits/AR when required.
  • Participate in company promotions, customer events, and sales meetings.
  • Complete sales reports, prepare budgets/quotes/menu suggestions, and handle related administrative tasks.
  • Assist with training new team members and engage in ongoing training.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related discipline OR
  • High school diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B, or outside sales experience (or equivalent experience, including completion of the Sales Internship).

Preferred

  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Prior restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience preferred.

Certificates / Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance that meet company insurability standards.
  • Insurance limits typically required: Bodily injury — $100,000 per person / $300,000 per accident; property damage — $100,000.

Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment testing.
  • Must sign Confidential Client’s protective covenants as a condition of hire.
  • Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily field-based with frequent driving within the assigned territory.
  • May require non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to meet customer needs.
  • Typical full-time schedule; travel within territory and occasional attendance at district or company meetings.
