Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Sales Consultant (Outside Sales / Territory Sales Representative) to manage and grow accounts in the Houston, TX area. This field sales role focuses on building relationships with restaurant and foodservice customers, driving product adoption, and meeting territory sales and profit goals.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop new business and expand existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth within your assigned territory.
  • Qualify prospects and pursue opportunities that align with account stratification goals.
  • Recommend products and services based on customer needs and market trends.
  • Provide product training and practical support to customers and their staff.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor — share market and product insights that add value.
  • Manage order issues (out-of-stock, special orders, inventory shortfalls) and coordinate with distribution/transportation as needed.
  • Participate in promotions, customer events, and company sales meetings.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, prepare quotes and reports, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Drive a personal vehicle to customer accounts, events, and meetings — travel across the assigned territory is required.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related field OR
  • HSD/GED plus 3 years’ experience in restaurant management, B2B/outside sales, or equivalent experience (including completion of a sales internship).

Preferred

  • Experience in foodservice, restaurant management, or chef background.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Certificates, Licenses & Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company insurability standards.
  • Current automobile insurance meeting the client’s required limits (policy limits specified by the client).
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing.
  • Willingness to sign a Protective Covenants Agreement as required by the client.
  • Reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Sales ability, follow-up, adaptability, and time/territory management.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build trust and loyalty.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated base pay: $58,397 per year (estimated).
  • Additional compensation may include performance bonus, promotional incentives, car allowance or mileage reimbursement (per client policy), and benefits such as 401(k) matching and employee stock purchase plan (programs vary by employer).
  • The role may require non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to support customer needs.

Location & Travel

  • This position is based in Houston, TX and requires regular travel within the assigned territory. Use of a personal vehicle is expected.
