Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Outside Sales / Sales Consultant in Houston, TX to build and grow foodservice accounts across a defined territory. This role focuses on developing new business, supporting existing restaurant and foodservice customers, and delivering product and service solutions that help customers succeed. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are strongly preferred.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth.
  • Qualify prospects and follow account stratification goals for the territory.
  • Research customer needs and recommend product mixes, pricing, and service options.
  • Present product information and provide practical in-person training to customer staff.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity; use insights to inform customers.
  • Manage order/troubleshoot delivery issues in coordination with operations and transportation.
  • Drive a personal vehicle to customer accounts, events, and company meetings.
  • Collect and communicate on accounts receivable as needed, in partnership with credit.
  • Prepare sales quotes, menu suggestions, budgets and regular sales reports.
  • Participate in sales meetings, training, customer events and team initiatives.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new sales hires as requested.

What We’re Looking For

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline
    OR HSD/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B/outside sales experience, or equivalent experience (including completion of a relevant sales internship).
  • Preferred: Restaurant management, foodservice outside sales or chef experience.
  • Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company insurability standards.
  • Current automobile insurance (source job requires specific limits; candidates must meet client insurance requirements).
  • Ability to work some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) as customer needs dictate.
  • Proficiency with basic PC tools and MS Office; strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $46,537 per year (estimated). Actual pay may vary based on experience, location, and role specifics.
  • Competitive base salary plus bonus and promotional incentives.
  • Car allowance or mileage reimbursement (program specifics may vary by state) and company-provided cell phone.

Location & Travel

  • This position is based in Houston, TX. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory.
  • Frequent local travel within the territory is required; the role is field-based and involves regular in-person customer visits.
